CANSECO PULLS FAST ONE ON LIONS

BLD welcomes the Las Vegas Cubs a new Expansion team in its inaugural season. The Cubs have announced that they've signed former Office Max and Blood Sweat and Beers ace Ron Dickinson, with a press conference scheduled for Monday. "It feels like we've definitely won the baseball lottery," said new Cubs manager Brian Cohen upon learning of the Dickinson news, according to New York Daily News' Andy Martino (viaTwitter). Dickinson, bolstered his free-agent status with an exceptional 2014 season.

The Cubs made another addition to their rotation by signing right-hander Ryan Paulin to a one-year contract. Bob Nightengale of USA Today first reported the agreement and terms (via Twitter).

The Cubs continued to make impactful additions, dealing for righty Joe Fox of the Gamecocks. David Kaplan of CSNChicago.com (via Twitter) and Jon Heyman of CBS Sports (via Twitter) both contributed to the reporting on the deal's progress.

Third baseman Ross Lambert a former Gold Glove & World Series Champion with the Lions who was best known for shoving players on the other team off the third base bag and fighting with umps, came out of retirement and signed with the Cubs for a 1 year 12 Million Dollar deal.

Michael Steiner a former 2 time Cy Young award winner with the Las Vegas Aces who retired at age 29 turned down the offer to play for the Cubs this season. Leaving a 3 year 45 Million dollar contract on the table, Steiner claims, "I don't want to ruin my legacy"

5 time All Star and Lions lead off hitter Bobby Flicker was contacted by the Cubs but the Lions deemed him untouchable and not available for trade.

Ozzie Canseco is still out of a job, as no teams will pick him up, even on a minor league contract. His agent contacted the Cubs however the Cubs are yet to respond. After hearing who the Manager was for the Las Vegas Cubs "Uppers" All Star Christopher Santos immediately contacted his agent and renegotiated his contact with his current team to add a second team to his no trade clause. Completed this past weekend Santos now will accept a trade to any of the 198 teams at BLD with the exception of the Lions or Cubs.

The Gamecocks have designated Josh Hayes for assignment.

Andrew Austin a former Las Vegas Puma (Little League team) signed to a 2 year, 14 Million dollar deal and will patrol one of the right outfield positions. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweeted that the deal was finalized.

ESPN.com's Buster Olney was the first to report an agreement between Cubs and the Lions. Cubs, Lions swap David Ferrara for 3 Minor League prospects. The Cubs contacted Ron Fryer's agent as well however the two sides where way off in negotiations. Fryer is looking for a Mike Trout like contract and the Cubs were not prepared to make that kind of offer.
