LNH Player Rules

In order to play on a League Night Hero team, players need to follow the following rules:

  • LNH.101 Players will receive a text typically on one-two days before the game. DO NOT send messages asking for game times. We won’t respond to those messages. We will send, not to worry and we will never forget.
  • LNH.102 Players need to respond within 12 hours in order to secure their spot for the game. If a player does not respond, coach will automatically find a reserve. If player shows up unannounced or responds after cut off time, he will not be able to play. If you are having a problem responding in the group text, send a personal text outside of the group.
  • LNH.103 If you cannot make a game LNH will supply a sub for you. Players are not to bring their own subs.
  • LNH.104 Players have until Noon the day of the game to cancel. This gives Coach a reasonable amount of time to find a proper reserve who can field your position. If player cancels after Noon the day of this will be considered a last minute cancel which puts the coach in a scramble to find a guy and in a stressful zone. This is a 1 strike policy per season automatic off the team option by coach.
  • LNH.105 No call, No Show, 1 strike policy automatic off the team (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • LNH.106 Games are Double Headers and players who say “In” are expected to be there for both games. We do not accept ‘I will be in for one game” as this is way too hard to find a replacement for one game, leaving the team with too many players in the lineup for the next game.
  • LNH.107 If you are late and the game starts, and a reserve was brought on because of your lateness, you will sit out the game you were late. Be on time! Consider Traffic, Weather, and leave yourself enough time to get to the park on time. Playing a game with 10 people with 2 people late is a lot different than being 10 minutes late to a Bar! Your actions affect the whole team.
  • LNH.108 New season team Fees are due when requested by Coach, which is at the 2nd to last Double Header from the previous season. Most times I will give a one week grace period if player asks for it. After that your roster spot will be filled.
  • LNH.109 No refunds on fees or jerseys (No Exceptions) once a player pays if his/her work schedule changes, an injury occurs or any other reason, no refunds are made regardless if season started or not.
  • LNH.110 Being on the playoff roster is coach’s decision based on attendance and conduct. There are strict rules regarding subs on playoff games and those who have low attendance are high risks for not showing which will hurt the team’s chances of having enough players to compete.
  • LNH.111 Smoking (Cigarettes or Weed) is not permitted in the dugout, on the field or surrounding areas that will have smoke near any players or fans. If you a smoker you must go very far away to an area that smoke will not travel near the players or fans.
  • LNH.112 Kids, Friends and family are not permitted in Dugout; they belong in the stands only. This is for the safety of them. This also includes players from other teams.
  • LNH.113 Starting fights/violence with Umps or the other teams is not permitted. Be nice to umps & players on other teams. This is a very small community and eventually you will play with them or see them again. We are all here to have fun.
  • LNH.114 Starting fights/violence with players on your team is not permitted.
  • LNH.115 Putting down players on your team is not permitted.
  • LNH.116 Unreasonable arguing with Umps or other team’s players is not permitted.
  • LNH.117 Be a good teammate.
  • LNH.118 Hustle all hits out (even the ones you think are outs)
  • LNH.119 No courtesy swings (expect placement games or games we are winning by a substantial amount late in the game) Courtesy Swings are NEVER permitted in a Playoff game regardless of the score.
  • LNH.120 Jerseys are ordered once payment is made. Once you make payment you can text your size, name on back & 3 different #s in order of the one you want the most.
  • LNH.121 If pinch runner is called for you, accept it
  • LNH.122 Control your Beer. Drinking is all good but puking and sloppy drunks are not
  • LNH.123 Wash yourself & softball clothes. If you smell up the dugout this won’t work
  • LNH.124 Home Run outs & Solos are not impressive in close games
  • LNH.125 Theft of any kind (Including balls) result in automatic off the team
  • LNH.126 We buy a substantial amount of Balls for each team. Be a good teammate and go grab a foul ball & Home Run balls
  • LNH.127 Bring your own equipment (Glove, batting gloves, sunglasses) ETC
  • LNH.128 Throwing dangerous items such as bats can result in removal from the team
  • LNH.129 Be on time to the games. Sometimes we roll with 10 guys & you being late can make a huge difference. (2 lates regardless if you notify coach, can result in removal from the team roster)
  • LNH.130 Don’t question Manager Decisions regarding positions, batting orders ETC. This also included end of the game strategy regarding taking an out. It is not a group vote. Coach spends countless hours organizing the team, therefore he and only he makes the decisions. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE!
  • LNH.131 Since there are multiple teams on multiple nights there will be teams who have an Assistant Coach. These Men or Women are to be treated the same as the Coach and have the same on the field decision making as the Coach.
  • LNH.132 Lifetime Bans are non reversible. If you are an asshole you lose the privilege to play on or fill in on all of our teams. You will also be removed from LNH Hall of Fame Consideration.
  • LNH.133 League Night Hero does NOT enforce Beer Pitchers after K’s or wearing funny shirts or too toos after a K or HR Out ETC
  • LNH.134 Play the position you are given, no switching without Coach approval
  • LNH.135 Publically putting down or talking shit outside of the team (on social media or softball threads) is also subject to be removal from the team and if to owner himself depending on the situation could be subject to legal action for slander
  • LNH.136 Men’s teams keep stats however Coed teams do not. The way we keep stats is also not negotiable. It is universal throughout all our teams.
  • LNH.137 The only communication for LNH will be Text Message Only. Please no phone calls, or Face Book messages. NO STALKERS OR STAGE 5 CLINGERS! Please just wait for the texts and don’t text things like: Game times? Or Can you resend the game times. You can always find the schedule on www.bigleaguedreams.com if you really want them prior to the text.
  • LNH.138 Stats for all Men’s teams are posted on www.LeagueNightHero.com after the season is finished. If you would like to add your own stats ask the coach and you can screen shot the stat sheet each week. This must be done after the game at the field.
  • LNH.139 Placement Game stats count with Regular season stat’s as “Regular season”
  • LNH. 140 Playoff Stats are kept separate considering the only goal is to win the Championship and we do not want battles for titles in the playoffs.
  • LNH.141 Game time Starts range from 6 PM- 10 PM and are Double Headers.
  • LNH.142 Please do not text saying it’s raining do we have a game? I am very aware of the weather and the games are always on unless I send a text saying that they are not.
  • LNH.143 If you would like to see our record or get advanced notice of schedules this can be found on the Leagues page www.BigLeagueDreams.com
  • LNH.144 I am a new player and am hesitant to pay a person I do not know upfront for the team fee. Feel free to contact Big League Dreams to validate my good standing with payment and players fees You can find there contact info on: ⦁ www.BigLeagueDreams.com
  • LNH.145 How much are Fees and what is included? The Fees for the team are $100.00 this includes 8 Double Header games (16 games) + 2 Placement games which is a total of 18 games. This also includes up to 4 playoff games (As long as you are in good standing). Also included are Umpire Fees, Balls, Web Site, and Stat recording.
  • LNH.146 All LNH Jerseys are made through Kaotic Apparell and are $35.00 each. Jerseys can be ordered at anytime and are not required by any players. Jersey name & # is you choice (#s based on availability) however the actual jersey itself can never be changed
  • LNH.147 The coach will keep the trophy and enter it with the other trophies into the LNH Hall of Fame
  • LNH.148 Players who are on a winning Championship team and play in the Championship game will receive a Championship T Shirt from Big League Dreams.
  • LNH.149 Big League Dreams charges a $3.00 Entry Fee per day to enter for Players and fans. This has nothing to do with LNH. A black coin token is given upon entrance once you pay the $3.00. This has cash value for $1.00 towards Beer or Food.
  • LNH.150 If Coach Feels you are not the right fit for the team during placement games he can refund you your entire fee. If coach feels you are not the right fit during the season he can pro rate a refund depending on regular season games played. Example; You pay $100 and play 9 games ½ the games) At anytime he can refund you $50. This is ONLY if you have not broke major rules in which you will be removed without a refund.
  • LNH.151 Playoff Rosters are a privilege and made at the decision of the coach. We may let some minor infractions go during the regular season, however due to the strict roster policies of the League, Coach has the right to keep any player he feels is a high no show candidate, late to games, poor attendance or any other reason off the playoff roster at anytime and without explanation.

The rules are made to keep a well organized team with no forfeits and to compete at a high level. It is also meant to keep our fans safe, and keep a good reputation with other teams, umps and BLD. Those who don't comply can be removed from the team without a refund. All current and new players will receive a link to this Web Site prior to the season so there is no miscommunication. Furthermore LNH spends a substantial amount of time adding up stats, working with web guy, finding fill ins, filling rosters ETC. If you do not have the common courtesy to follow the rules and make it more difficult to operate we will remove you from the roster with no refund. Once you receive this link, you are expected to read & comply with the rules.

Benefits to playing with LNH

Playing Softball with LNH has many benefits

  • LNH teams are very organized.
  • LNH teams have never forfeited a game.
  • LNH Men’s teams keep detailed stats for each player.
  • LNH has web sites for each team which includes stats, rosters, photos and more.
  • LNH pre pays their seasons to the league, and never owes fees to the league. Other teams have disorganized systems and owe money to the league, ending in forfeits
  • LNH teams last. Once we start a team we run straight through the year. Most of the time with the same guys. Many teams take seasons off and players end up on many teams throughout the course of the year
  • LNH screens its players after the first season. We are here to have fun but also compete. If someone is a cancer we remove them.
  • LNH offers Uppers and Lowers for men and Coed.
  • Sometimes LNH gives free gear to its long time players
  • LNH wants to compete and has a large list of Quality reserve players
  • Sometimes exceptional players will receive Free seasons on other LNH teams they are not on that lost a player who had a paid spot to injury ETC
  • It is possible to switch teams mid season depending on team availability. This is only done with coaches approval
  • LNH offers 2 teams per night at BLD. Some players who only have one night off, can join 2 teams on the same night, which mostly do not conflict
  • Once you join LNH we try to give our paying players the first option to fill in on other teams (This is of course based on positions and what is needed as a fill in)
